What's the culture in terms of diversity?

For me in digital design, there's a real desire to improve our diversity - whether that's thinking about the end user and how we can make our products better or whether that's looking internally at our teams.

We are about to conduct an accessibility audit of the website for example, knowing that we need to make changes. It's all linked up to the Kingfisher strategy about 'making better homes accessible for all', which includes the multi-channel experience. We will be looking at the WCAG guidelines and seeing how we can improve compliance, but also looking at the actual experience with customers who have accessibility needs. Compliance is one aspect, lived experience is another and we need to cover both.

We have a diverse team in Digital Design too, coming from lots of backgrounds whether that's cultural, sexual or neurological diversity... and I find that everyone is welcomed in my experience! Our Head of Design is female as are 2 of the 3 the product directors. There's always more than can be done, though I do feel it's positive so far.
